About Steven Levac
Steven Levac started playing music at age 12.
He was first seduced by the acoustic guitar but was then attracted to the electric guitar. He was the lead singer for many bands during his teen years – we can say that his passion for music came at an early age! His first show in front of a crowd happened when he was 13 years old; that was the moment that confirmed the fact that the place he had to be was on stage.
After moving to Montreal at age 15, his presence is felt in many musical projects. Tempted by different musical styles, Steven records two Spanish-language songs in 1991.
That was followed by many shows in the 90’s, in great venues such as Montreal’s Foufounes électriques with his band Sahara. They were runner up at the Yamaha Music Quest 94! The band split in 1996 after four recording four other songs.
After moving back to Hawkesbury in 2000, he was part of some cover bands until he started writing his own songs. In 2018, Steven realized that he had to go solo in order to display his emotions in the songs he wrote.
His first French-language single «Dis-moé le donc» (tell me) was released in March 2021, followed by «Dans ma boite de truck» (in my truck box) in May of the same year. As both of these became very popular, Steven launched «Car tu es la plus belle» (because you’re the most beautiful) on September 10, 2021. Those singles were included with three others on his first EP of original songs that were released in October.
It’s going to be a fun ride with Steven!
August 19, 2022 marks an important achievement in Steven’s career as the single and music video for «C’est quoi l’amour» (what’s love) was released. The public had awesome reactions to this single on social media and on all the streaming platforms. That song inspired Steven to continue writing songs for a second French-music Country album to come. Furthermore, Steven was nominated in the new artist of the year category of the 2022 Gala Country, presented at the renowned St-Tite Western Festival.
His 2023 single «M’a t’faire une deal» (I’ll make you a deal) reached top position of many radio charts. His latest single «Lâche pas la patate» (don’t lose hold of the potato – slang for hang on, don’t let go) is gathering surprising interest. A French Country album is planned for the upcoming year.
Since March 2023, Steven cohosts Ton Jukebox Country, a weekly syndicated radio show that features mostly French Country music, an interview with a Country artist, and comedy bits. Ton Jukebox Country airs on multiple Canadian FM radio stations and internet radio stations in Canada, France and Belgium.
With multiple top charting singles, Steven keeps getting rave reviews as a Country artist. He’ll be launching a first English-language Country single in the Fall of 2023 titled WITH YOU for the international market. An English-language Country album is planned for 2024.
